Before Stéphane Tissot made the Jura famous for precise single variety reds, his father André made blends, because that was simply how it was done. Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir went in together and came out as one wine. DD was André's nickname, and this cuvée is Stéphane tipping his hat back to him.

The domaine sits at Montigny-lès-Arsures, a few minutes from Arbois. Stéphane and Bénédicte took it over in 1990, certified the vineyards organic in 1999 and converted to biodynamics in 2004. Almost nobody in the Jura was working that way at the time. He is now the reference point for the entire region

The fruit comes off plots between 250 and 450 metres, massale selection plantings of around thirty five years, on Triassic clay and limestone. Fermentation is spontaneous, the maceration is long and gentle, and the wine spends three months in barrels over a century old. Nothing fined, nothing filtered, no sulphur added.
